Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). The key word is Rating. A Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) is classified by the rating of it’s tires, suspension and brakes. A CMV has nothing to do with the actual weight of your vehicle. Likewise, if it’s equipped with Air Brakes it may not need a CDL. Feel free to reach out to us if you need clarification on your vehicle.
If your vehicle meets the criteria for a CDL please click here to see your next steps to getting a CDL.
You can download the PDF (Digital) copy here by clicking on the word manual, or pick one up at the DMV.
